What Nobody Tells You About Building a Faith-Based Business: My Week of Doubt, Breakthroughs, and Trusting God Anyway
Can I be honest with you about something?
This week, I almost quit.
Not dramatically. Not with some big announcement. Just quietly. The kind of quitting where you stop posting, stop showing up, stop believing that what you’re building actually matters.
I was sitting at my desk staring at my content calendar, and that familiar voice started whispering: “Who do you think you are? There are thousands of other faith-based business coaches out there. What makes you think anyone needs to hear from YOU?”
Let me be real for a second – I’ve been doing this long enough to recognize the enemy’s voice. But knowing it’s a lie and FEELING like it’s a lie are two different things.
So I did what I always do when doubt shows up uninvited. I got honest with God.
“I don’t know if I’m making a difference. I don’t know if anyone’s actually listening. I don’t know if this is even working.”
And you know what happened? Nothing dramatic. No burning bush moment. No audible voice from heaven.
Just a message from a woman I’d never met: “I listened to your podcast episode this morning and it gave me the courage to finally launch my business. Thank you for being obedient even when it’s hard.”
Sweet baby Jesus.
Here’s what I’m learning in this messy middle: God doesn’t need me to feel confident to use me. He just needs me to show up. The breakthrough doesn’t always come before the obedience – sometimes it comes because of it.
So yes, I’m still building this thing. Yes, I still have moments of doubt. Yes, I’m figuring it out as I go. And yes, God is still using it.
What’s one thing you need to keep doing even when you don’t see the results yet?
