Empowerment

Stephanie Jones

Stephanie Jones is a woman I greatly admire. I had the honor of meeting her through her daughter Ashley Mattison, who is a dear sister friend of mine. Mrs. Jones quickly embraced me in her family and accepted me as her daughter. Since meeting her in 2013, she has blossomed so much in every arena of her life. Stephanie Jones has gone through a  season of transformation, which is evident in how confidently she shows up to be all that God has called her to be. Stephanie’s exuberant personality, genuine love for humanity, and dedication to ministering to the lost and hurting are why she was chosen to be honored this month.

Stephanie currently resides in Anderson, SC. She is the Senior Pastor and founder of Revealing Truth Ministries. She was installed as senior pastor in 2016  after faithfully conducting Bible studies for two years. Before becoming a full-time pastor, Stephanie was the CEO of Simply Stephanie LLC until 2017. This anointed woman of God answered the call to ministry in 1996 and was licensed and ordained in Anderson, SC. Desiring to fully immerse herself in her calling, Stephanie enrolled in Full Counsel School of Ministry in Little Rock, AR. In 2000 she graduated with her ministerial diploma. As an entrepreneur, Stephanie became a licensed cosmetologist at the age of seventeen. Years later she became a cosmetology instructor for the state of South Carolina. She spent countless hours teaching continuing education courses to assist licensed cosmetologists in being more professional and successful in the haircare industry.

Experiencing success as a cosmetologist and pastor have not been an easy journey for Stephanie. This fierce woman knows what it means to fight with everything you got until every Goliath is defeated. Like so many women, she struggled with low self-esteem for many years and had a skewed view of herself. Stephanie believed that with the baddest hairstyles and makeup that her self-esteem would increase, but it didn’t. Growing up in a chaotic household in fear of an abusive and alcoholic father chiseled away at her self-esteem. Her mother’s soothing love got Stephanie through the dark times of her childhood nightmare.

Surviving such a horrific childhood wasn’t easy, however, Stephanie began to see her life shift when she met her husband, Msgt. James E. Jones Jr in 1990.  Stephanie and her husband were stationed in Hawaii shortly after they were married. Joining a local church in Hawaii, opened the door to Stephanie developing an intimate relationship with God and a powerful prayer life. She not only sought God for herself, but the power of her prayers was transforming the lives of her family members too. As a result of Stephanie’s prayers, her grandmother was healed and declared Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Stephanie’s son isn’t legally blind as he was told he would be by the age of seventeen. Her brother survived a gunshot wound without becoming paralyzed as foretold by doctors.

Seeing how her prayers were impacting her family members lives, Stephanie began to focus on her community at large in Anderson, SC. As a modeled citizen, she is desiring to see the eradication of violence in her community. Stephanie desires her fellow citizens to know who they are in God and to begin operating in His power to make a difference in the world around them.

Although Stephanie is spearheading change in her community through her ministry, she still faces opposition because she is a female pastor. Yes, it’s sad that even in 2018 that there are women and men who are against women preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Stephanie doesn’t allow this opposition to hinder her anyway. She has many women in ministry who inspires her to walk strong in her calling, such as Dr. Jennifer Johnson, Joyce Meyer, Aimee Semple McPherson, and Kathryn Kulman. With such great inspiration, Stephanie has accomplished being able to courageously lead in various capacities and love again after a painful divorce. Congratulations Stephanie and Msgt. James Jones Jr. on twenty-six years of marriage!

This phenomenal woman’s advice to every person that encounters this article is “To know if you are in this world consider yourself a stick. Moses used the rod or stick to convince Pharoh of the power of God and he used the same stick to stretch towards the Red Sea. Remember God used the stick to accomplish amazing things and it was all for His Glory. If He didn’t need you in the world NOW, you would not have come. NOW BE! He called us human beings, not human doings. Just be who He designed you to be, He will empower you with everything you need to glorify Him.”

Stephanie is creating a legacy of women and men of God that are backed by the power of God to show up in any situation and manifest the Kingdom of God so blind eyes are opened, the maimed are made whole, families are restored and functioning properly. And for abundance to manifest where there were none. It’s Stephanies heart to create a legacy of people that live by faith according to the Word of God so that they overcome every obstacle they face in life, and then demonstrate the Word of God. This is our mission at Revealing Truth Ministries, Teach, Equip and Demonstrate.
