Mirror Conversations: Baby Blues

Hey you,

I see you over there. I see your sadness, your pain.

The struggle of getting up when it feels like the weight of the world is on your shoulders.

I see you

The tears you shed when you think no one’s looking.

I see you

I see the frustration of trying to be stronger than ever. Trying to… make it

I see you

I see the marks you try to hide, born of childbirth. I see the disappointment in your gaze.

I see you

I see the anxiety you feel at the thought of being judged.

I hear you

I hear the thoughts that are racing in the midnight hours as you try to sleep.

I hear you

I hear the prayers for energy you utter as the alarm blares to awaken you to the start of a new day.

I hear you

I hear the silent wishes you make for understanding, patience, and peace.

I hear you

I hear you cry out to God to take away the oppressive stronghold of your depression.

It..Is…Hard

BUT

I know you

I know the pride you feel as you look down at your baby boy.

I know you

I know the fullness you feel as you snuggle up to your husband.

I know you

I know the resilience you’ve cultivated through life’s trials and tribulations.

I know you

I know that you are strong.

I know that you are loved.

I know that you are beautiful

I know that you are a warrior…and you WILL make it.

And I also know…

That the God you serve, has already overcome the world.

So you are covered.

Accept your perfectly, imperfect nature…and let your light chase away the darkness.
