Every morning I wake up
and see the world through a stranger’s eyes.
Every morning I wake up
in wonder of the day’s surprise.
I slip the shoes on my bare feet,
wonder what the day will bring—
hunger, sadness, pain or strife—
the challenges of another life.
Pass the time, past the pain.
His grace will shield me from the rain.
If my heart is open wide,
I will feel the warmth inside
even on the coldest day
as I go on my way…
In the afternoon, I am alone
with just my prayers and my song.
I pause to rest as the road is rough,
but God’s love is more than enough
to keep me walking in these shoes,
to keep me sharing the great news.
Pass the time, past the pain
His grace will shield me from the rain.
If my heart is open wide,
I will feel the warmth inside
even on the coldest day
as I go on my way…
The night closes in.
I’m weary from my travelin’.
As these shoes fall away,
I bow my head and begin to pray.
To see the world from a stranger’s view
helps my faith to be renewed.
Glory, glory in every day,
all my heart I give today.
Pass the time, past the pain.
His grace will shield me from the rain.
If my heart is open wide,
I will feel the warmth inside
even on the coldest day
join me on my way…
