Shocked by the words spoken when the media brings it to light
Listening to something much more shocking though the day and night
We don’t think words have meaning when put in a good song
We accept the shocking in movies because we don’t think it’s wrong
Are we truly desensitized or just followers of what we are told to despise?
We keep walking in the rain and not seeing the sunrise
We forgive the atrocity of the celebrity by dinner time
We believe everything will get better given time
How can someone say this? How can someone say that?
How can someone support this? How can someone support that?
Varying opinions of what is truly right
We would never accept this; well maybe we might
Polls are taken from unreliable samples and presented as fact
Bombarded by so many ideas, we struggle to keep our beliefs intact
What’s the latest movement? Should we join the conversation?
Will this demonstration finally change the situation?
Friends splitting ways because of one thing said that other doesn’t agree
Blinded by our own pride that we cannot even see
Reality should not be shaped from outside influence
Do we like the conflict or do we truly want congruence?
