Loosed From Her Past

Sometimes we can lose ourselves while going through situations and the curve balls life throws at us. Of course, we all have tried to plan a picture-perfect life. We desire our life to go a certain way, but that isn’t how life works. When obstacles come, we get bent out of shape. We focus so much on the problem that we lose ourselves. We forget that the plan we mapped out for our life was not the plan of God for our life.

I have been there. After an unplanned pregnancy, not finishing college and not beginning a career before starting a family was not a part of my plan. It was not in my plan to go through toxic relationships, become unemployed, and find myself almost to the point of homelessness. It was not in my plan. Who would have ever thought that I would have gone through an abusive relationship? Both verbal and physical abuse. Oh, the pain and hurt I endured is indescribable, but forgiveness is a powerful thing.

Everything we go through is in the plan for our life. Going through those events, I lost focus of whose I was and had to quickly remember that all things would eventually work together for my good. I knew that the odds were not against me.

I was loosed from my past. I was loosed from toxic relationships—looking for love in all the wrong places and the bondage of my mind that kept me from moving forward with my life. I was on the run. I was on the run from dealing with the real issues I was facing. I was running from dealing with hurt, dealing with betrayal, dealing with all that I was really feeling. NO MORE! It was weighing me down and holding me hostage from reaching my destiny.

I have been set free. Learning to find love, peace, and understanding in God was the best decision I ever made. I learned to stop depending so heavily on people. People will fail you, but God will not.

There was no more playing small, no more settling, no more looking for validation from others, no more worrying about what other people thought about me, no more procrastination, no more fear, no more excuses. NO MORE! I was determined that I was designed for success, and I was determined that I would be successful.

My past will never dictate my future and neither should yours. Your past should never dictate who you are and whose you are. Never give up! Never quit!

I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become. I am a victor, not a victim. I am loosed from my past and chasing after my destiny!
